Over the weekend I decided to go and give Guild Wars 2 a go. I’d heard some good things about it, and I wanted to try it out since I’m after something that’s in the fantasy MMO style, but doesn’t attract a subscription fee.

By default the ENVI-R’s serial USB adapter will get a device name such as /dev/ttyUSB0, but this may wander if you have multiple serial devices connected. In order to get a fixed name, create an appropriate .rules file in /etc/udev/rules.d, and enter this;

I finally decided to try and set up AirPrint to print from my iPhone 3GS running iOS 6 to my ancient HP LaserJet 4M+ . As discussed before I’m running CentOS 6.3. In addition, I’ve recently changed over my network infrastructure to use DNSMASQ for providing DHCP/DNS.

I’ve been using PopTop (a PPTP implementation) for quite some time now, but it appears that the PopTop Sourceforge site recently died and hasn’t come back. In addition, PopTop hasn’t been updated in nearly five years. Probably time to move on.

As discussed before, I have a HP Microserver. Currently it was running my data volume group (vgdata) on a single disk. Anyway, I finally bit the bullet and bought four 3Tb Western Digital Red drives for it. Now, I want to re-lay out the four drive slots in my Microserver to be a single RAID-5 array, but I don’t want to have to backup/restore the existing VG anywhere. So here’s what I did.
