Nginx is something that I’ve really come to appreciate since I moved my blog across to my own server.  However, it’s lacking a really great feature that I would love to have - the ability to dynamically update rules through DNS resolution.  I don’t have a static IP address for my home Internet connection, but I do use dynamic DNS.

So, I have a Microserver sitting at home, and due to various reasons I wanted to move one of the services that I typically ran on the Microserver across to my VPS.  The reason why I wanted to do this is to save CPU cycles on the Microserver since I’m planning on using those to do some other work.  But the service I wanted to move is intended for local access only and I don’t want to set up a proper site-to-site VPN.

Now that I’ve got my Microserver’s remote access card working, I’ve spent a bit of time enabling remote access in a reasonably secure fashion.  I found out that you can use SSH to access the RAC, and that its SSH implementation supports port forwarding.  This is exactly what I wanted.

Came across this the other day - the post is a bit old, but it was news to me, and it resolves an old issue I’ve been having.  A new firmware is now available for the HP Microserver remote access card - v1.3, information is available here.

Upgraded my GT-i9305T to the latest CyanogenMod nightly, and had quite a few issues. Namely, my phone would no longer connect to 3G/4G, and the APN settings were blank.  Trying to re-enter APN settings didn’t work (nothing would go into the APN list!).  I tried rolling back to a previous nightly, but then the phone just kept rebooting.

I was working on fixing my manufacturing spreadsheets for EVE Online to make it a bit more automated.  And in order to do that, I needed to be able to calculate production time and material costs for blueprints straight from the raw BP data.  Anyway, it turns out that the formula at EVEDev is close, but not quite right.  Following are the formulas that actually work.
